39. My take on body language: some of them are defying him,

Some are wrestling with a terrible choice, some are angry, some are still looking to others who they previously trusted. They all seem to already know each other. I think they already did something dangerous together. This is the group that can put him away or save him, or so he believes. They believed him when he made the usual empty promises that he could protect them. I think he's throwing them under the bus. I think this is how he prepares them to take the fall for him, or something even worse will happen. He's delivering bad news. So many people saw him as an opportunity and thought they were the one person who could out-maneuver the authorities.
