As Biden touts Ohio Intel plant, Rep. Tim Ryan questions his 2024 plans

...Asked Thursday if Biden should seek a second term, Ryan told Youngstown, Ohio, network WFMJ, "My hunch is that we need new leadership across the board - Democrats, Republicans, I think it’s time for a generational move."

Ryan, who has broken with the president on some issues, has not asked Biden to campaign with him in the state, but was present at the Intel groundbreaking for the president's remarks.

Pressed later by reporters if Biden should run again, Ryan said that was up to the president. “The president said from the very beginning he was going to be a bridge to the next generation, which is basically what I was saying," he said...

I don't like it, but I'm inclined to cut Ryan some slack as he's trying to win in a pretty red state.

candidates are when falling into obvious media gotcha questions

We should be focusing only on the midterms, and not make potentially divisive remarks about candidates for 2024

I get his sentiment toward needing younger bloods in the democratic leadership. But I think these few years have proven that older guards (like Pelosi and president Biden) are also much needed. I still fully believe president Biden will make the right decision whether to seek re-election or not. It's way too early to talk about 2024.

And you never hear him out there throwing anybody under a bus. I like Ryan and I guess he has to do what he feels is best for him. I just hope his ambition doesn't come back and bite him in the butt.

I feel Ryan can sell himself to Ohio voters on his own merits. He should stick to that.
