Can we please stop thinking that the exposure of GOP elected officials criminality

Is going to make a bit of difference to their base. The cons love them some criminals. The worse, the better in their minds. We can spare these people no quarter. They would kill us all if they could.

If we win the voters in the middle, then that's how we will win this and other elections.

Even if they are just a few percentage points of the entire voting population, those few voters WILL decide the election.

Trump’s base is 40% of Americans or less. It’s about convincing swing voters which are still about 5-10% of voters in any given election.

These aren't, however, people judiciously weighing the pros and cons of Democratic and Republican positions on issues.

These are people who are largely ignorant of what's going on in politics, who have no clue how often party is much more important than individual politicians, who in fact think disregarding political rhetoric and policy positions, and instead going with their own (highly-manipulable) gut feelings for the personality or character of individuals, is much more reliable.

These are people who consider whether or not they are personally happy with how things are going, and, if so, they vote for incumbents, and if not, vote for challengers.
