The Lindsey Graham abortion bill would not preempt more stringent state laws.

The argument that this law will preserve exemptions for the life of the mother, incest, rate, etc. is complete bullshit. The bill expressly states that it does not preempt any federal state or local that imposes "greater protections for an unborn child" than the Graham bill. On the other hand, it will effectively preempt any state law that is less restrictive or otherwise protective of a woman's right, under state law, to choose.

In short, this bill is targeted exclusively at states that might seek to protect women but does nothing to prevent states that have a callous disregard for women (and girls) from doing whatever the hell they want.

Screw you Lindsey.

It’s a dead issue end unless we lose the Senate.
I read a lot about their many grandiose plans, which don’t mean squat if they are shellacked at the polls this November. Graham again feels the need to have his mug on television - lest we forget who he is.

The next time they get all 3 prizes, the bill introduced will be draconian.

This is just a distraction. "See, we can be reasonable" (even though it would be a disaster even as proposed).

All you need to see is what is being passed where they are in control. Forget the distractions.

But imposing a federal ban after 15 weeks and failing to preempt state laws which don't preserve a 15-week window is a non-starter.

Lindsey Graham's proposal is a waste of everyone's time.
