And look at him now. What goes around comes around.

His career is as stuck as the Andromeda spacecraft was when near the black hole. (It had to be towed out.)

The show was good -- Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda -- until it became abjectly awful.

I've been called worse.

The show was Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, and I am a Star Trek fan.

I thought Sorbo was an alright kind of guy until he proved to be a total, as you say, jackass.

I also think Man of Steel is one of the greatest movies ever made. The visuals and story are well matched with its amazing soundtrack.

Sorry about that. "Fans" would have been a far better adjective.

Still, I'm not a science fiction/fantasy "fan" and I've never heard of those shows. Sorbo seems to have been typecast into the science fiction/fantasy genre. Even "Hercules" would fit that description, if I'm not mistaken.

Let's put it this way: Sorbo is never going to be nominated for an Academy Award, let alone win one.

He was the lead actor on two TV series totaling 11 seasons. Both those series are popular in reruns to give him residuals. He did guest appearances or voiceovers for two spin-off series.

If he wanted to, he could do the convention circuit and sell his autograph for $15-20 a pop with people lined up 14 hours a day for the chance to get one.

He's kept active doing tv and movie roles (a few movies as the star).

There's a lot of actors who'd give their left arm to get that much work/money.

Sorbo's character was a super-successful always-winning-awards actor who kept swatting aside the filmmaker central character, a gossamer-thin caricature of Michael Moore.

When Sorbo's a "super-successful always-winning-awards actor", I stand by my characterization of the movie as "conservative masturbatory fantasy", and that's without getting into the rest of the movie.

THAT said, I am TERRIBLY discouraged that Kevin Sorbo is drinking the koolaid and watching alt news.

What I have seen is that people who are more Libertarian have eventually become unhinged when tRump made them choose sides and freaked them out about "fake news" coming from the actual reliable sources.

tRump used his position as sitting President to plow the field, fertilize it and plant the seeds for the BIG LIE and so that loyalty a lot of US have to a sitting pRes even if we disagree with his politics in general snagged a lot of people who might have simply rejected such brazen assertions IF NOT for how slowly and methodically and constantly the pieces were put into play.

I have family members who have been sucked in and it is like seeing someone who is in a cult and their mind is just warped.

Not personally knowing Kevin, I don't know what he was like to start, but he came from Minnesota, so there is every chance he started out nice and got warped.

That said, I knew a man who was drop dead gorgeous and the EX of a friend of mine. He walked up to our apartment building. I was tying her little guy's shoes so he could go on visitation. I looked at him and thought, "Whoa, he looks like an actor." Then he opened his mouth and said something about how my friend should get punched in the head for not having the kid ready on time. Then I gritted my teeth, kept myself from decking him right there and thought, "But opens his mouth and the ugly comes out."

That man did have an honest to goodness mental disorder, so at least when he took his meds he was halfway decent. Halfway. He was good to his kids.

The Hercules series took place millennia ago. But, there's one ep of Hercules that takes place in the present day, where it is portrayed that Hercules is still alive and in the guise of some guy named Kevin Sorbo.

I thought it was a clever plot and fun episode.

Again, it's too bad Sorbo is such a jerk with a very limited view of the world.

Just a guess on my part but I doubt any of his current 'work' brings in much of a paycheck and a lot of that pre production projects may never happen. He probably loves his residuals.

Busses arrived in Edgartown, Mass., Friday morning to ship out the 50 illegal migrants who arrived at the New England destination at Martha’s Vineyard Wednesday night courtesy of Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

According to the Vineyard Gazette, the mostly Venezuelan migrants will be bussed to a ferry that will take them to a military base on Cape Cod. Republican Gov. Charlie Baker announced the activation of up to 125 members of the state National Guard to coordinate relief efforts for what local residents declared a “humanitarian crisis.”

I didn't even know who Kevin Sorbo is, so I googled and found out that his main claim to fame is a 90s TV series that I also never heard of!

I also learned that he's a RW nutjob who thinks that (among other things) we should stop sending money to Ukraine to support their efforts to fight off the Russian invaders. Charming.

He also claims that he was "blacklisted by Hollywood" for being a Christian. Well, when you profess to follow a religion that's supposed to be about loving your neighbor as yourself out of one side of your mouth and spew hate out the other side you shouldn't be surprised that nobody wants to work with you, dude.

Sat Sep 17, 2022, 10:24 AM

Sorbo is a big time Christian who makes the God Is Not Dead movies, so why is he, like many conservative Christians, against the teachings of Jesus who, above all else, believed in helping the poor? Conservative Christians act like they hate the poor. Fox News has long mocked the poor, claiming that there is no poverty in America (the Census says otherwise) and that poor people are just people who have made bad decisions. When Bill O'Reilly was still on Fox News and PBS had a special on poverty in America, O'Reilly claimed that they were "just trying to make America look bad" but he couldn't challenge any of the facts in the program. When the UN released a report on poverty in America, Nikki Haley had a meltdown, claiming that the UN had no right to do that!
