(51,584 posts)Maher has gotten more Libertarian by the minute. I can hardly stand to listen to him for more than 3 minutes before I start swearing at the TV. His anti-masking BS was the nail in his coffin as far as I am concerned.

(5,492 posts)It was the most Enlightened Centrism opinion by Bill ever. He and his guests claimed Biden should have called out Liberals in his speech as well, and, been softer in his language towards Trump. 🙄
That, and claiming people shouldnt work from home because its lazy and doesnt allow them to socialize.
His guests all share his ridiculous takes now. Its painful to watch.
I'd tolerate some of his positions I didn't agree with, but I kept watching, because, overall, he was enteratining and I was aligned with most of his thinking.
Covid changed that. So, so whiny. Unleashed eveything he hated about the Nanny state. Plus, the whole brodcasting from his home without an audience was boring and flat.
Haven't watched since.

(51,584 posts)I try not to pigeon hole myself into being closed minded to both sides, etc but I had to draw the line. His "both sides" BS is why I won't watch CNN anymore too. I've done the "let's listen to the other side or we are as bad as they are" enough to know when to edit the idiots who propose this viewpoint at this time in our precarious democracy.

(51,308 posts)I've been watching the coverage, and the length doesn't bother me. But there certainly is a lot of it.

(2,407 posts)I've liked watching some of the ancient ceremonies that have never been seen by a TV audience. But much of the coverage isn't informative.
My father actually had dinner with her and Phillip in the 90s. Over drinks before the meal was served my dad asked Phillip about his days in the navy and the prince said something along the lines of "I've often wondered what life would have been like had I stayed in the service"
