Local news just said Fiona made landfall in SW Puerto Rico at 85mph and that there is catastrophic flooding in several parts of the island.

(5,940 posts)that all is good except they expect to be without power for a couple of weeks. He's a land developer there (and here). They have a generator. In his line of business, I'd imagine he knows enough (and has enough contacts) to give a good assessment on the power situation.

(7,638 posts)The queens still dead, so there couldn't possibly be anything else happening in the world. I'm going to check the weather channels and see what the planting of the queen weather is like I'm sure.

(16,903 posts)We are in Dominican Republic... We've battened down the hatches, but it is still frightening... There's already news coming from the south that the winds are so strong they actually blew WATER TANKS off roofs, and destroyed roofs. Heaven help us...
