Tampa Bay here. If it comes ashore south of me, it is better. The NE quad is the worst part of a hurricane. I am 3 blocks from the Gulf and the surge will be awful. Will be keeping an eye. Hate to have to evac but if the winds are anything over 80mph, I am out of here. Stayed for Jeannie and it was scary. Floor was moving up and down from the winds.

Bradenton with no place to go is a scenario that storm experts have been warning about for many years. It's odd how the area from big Bend over to Louisiana has been so battered over the years and Cedar Key southward has had relatively less frequency or severity. Sooner or later its going to happen. I have spent a lot of time on Anna Maria over the years. That area would be devastated.

Hoping for best outcomes.

in central NC at the end of next week.

Hot and dry September here has us 3 inches behind normal rainfall year to date. Plus, thought we were through with 90+ degree weather until this week. It's been a very hot and dry summer here.

Boca Raton here.

I was talking with someone in Naples just the other day and said it looks like we escaped the peak of hurricane season. Without knocking on wood.

I cursed us into the cone.

My only saving grace is that I got a whole house generator last season so I am in better shape than most.

Fla. Governor better save his money for the disaster relief funds if hurricane hits.
