This will be Ever's second try
But like the last time, the Wisconsin gerrymandered #Republican legislation will gavel in and immediately gavel out.

Gov. Tony Evers (D) is calling a special session of the state legislature to give Wisconsinites the ability to directly repeal an 1849 anti-abortion law via ballot measure.

This will hopefully galvanize women throughout the state to say 'enough!' and vote these right wing fascists out of office.

We'll see. With this Dobbs decision, all bets are off in November, I think.

They believe they know what's best for their constituents and we should just shut up and be happy
with their non-leadership.

Don't know the mechanics of state ballot methods in WI, but since he didn't submit voter signatures it will likely have to be approved by the state leg.

When they fail to allow it, it will be very visible.

The move is designed to make people justifiably mad. Mad turns out voters.

I can't believe it will actually make it to the ballot given likely court challenges and legislative obstruction, but it is a gauntlet thrown at their feet anyway.

Might be the method to his madness, as they say. Hope it works.

They can only be legislatively initiated as a way to gauge the publics opinion. This is Evers showing that the legislature is not interested in the nearly 60% of the public that opposes Wisconsins near total ban, instead kowtowing to the minority who support the total ban.

Remember who your friends and allies are. You're voting for yourself, your daughters, granddaughters, nieces, cousins and maybe your aunts or your own mother.
