Ill not post their crap here. But I follow a former high school classmate who is totally submerged in Q and she has been posting a lot of scary crap on Facebook the last couple of days.
This shit is dangerous even if it isnt true because it emboldens the crazies who live amongst us. Yes, I report her posts all the time. She gets kicked off and then gets back on after a period of time in Facebook jail.
They are literally advocating for the overthrow of democracy. Again, most sane people understand its just made up crap. But to the crazies who think its real, they may want to act on it.
Scary times.

(7,063 posts)You'd think these dipshits would finally realize that not one Q prediction has come true in all that time, but nooooo. Some of the nuts just double down on the crazy.
hamsterjill
(15,220 posts)And see that nothing has happened even with all of the predictions.
But you cant reason with crazy either, and in my opinion, thats the part that is scary. They will do as they believe they are being asked.
Warpy
(111,240 posts)because they're given carefully targeted scraps of information plus disinformation and told to connect the dots between them. It's a slick as hell psyops campaign and it's working.
Along with connecting the dots, they're given praise for being so far ahead of the rest of us, and that keeps them coming back for more.
I'm not conedmning people who got sucked into this stuff, it's seductive as hell. I just want to know who is leading these people around. I sincerely hope there is a group of geeks somewhere in the government who are tracking this shit down to its source and that source is revealed soon. That guy in South Africa who started it for the lulz is no longer herding the sheep. I want to know who took over from him.

(50,942 posts)it think they know something the rest of us don't. And that makes them smarter than the rest of us and gives them something to belong to. And from what I have seen, they tend to be the ones who have never known more than others and have never belonged. So they can't give it up.

(7,063 posts)They've invested so much time and so much of their identity in this idiocy, there's no going back.

(15,220 posts)But the more of them, the more they feel that they are right and that emboldens them.
brooklynite
(94,493 posts)It posted cryptic statements that adherents interpreted themselves; when a prediction didn't come to pass, they simply reinterpreted the post.
IronLionZion
(45,421 posts)And they respond with more Q crap like trust the plan, deep state is hiding the truth, the great awakening is coming, etc.
They refuse to admit they've fallen for a fraud.

(17,911 posts)That's the thing that irritates me the most about these people. No matter how hard you try, or how well you articulate your response, you just can't reason rationally with these dumb mother fuckers.

(7,063 posts)And, to be fair, the death-cult religion Christianity has been waiting 2,000 years for the major prediction of their "faith" to actually happen, so its track record is exponentially worse than Q's. I always want to tell zealots: "Spoiler Alert: Jesus wasn't magic and he's never returning to Earth." The only difference between a cult like Q and other major religions is that the major ones have enough cultural familiarity that people don't think of them in the same terms.

Several, and shes learned to post stuff in the comment section on Facebook because comments are less likely to be flagged. Also theres a lot actually.

(15,220 posts)But I googled some of the information she had posted and it seems to be spreading on multiple sites.
Its all made up stuff. But again, those crazy enough to follow Q arent likely to worry about what is real versus what is made up. That is the aspect that is frightening to me.

(24,725 posts)how frightened to be based in how big a threat they are...in part based on how many of them there are?

No Calm in The Storm: Investigating QAnon Website Relationships
Hans W. A. Hanley, Deepak Kumar, Zakir Durumeric
QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory whose followers largely organize online. In this work, we use web crawls seeded from two of the largest QAnon hotbeds on the Internet, Voat and 8kun, to build a QAnon-centered domain-based hyperlink graph. We use this graph to identify, understand, and learn about the set of websites that spread QAnon content online. Specifically, we curate the largest list of QAnon centered websites to date, from which we document the types of QAnon sites, their hosting providers, as well as their popularity. We further analyze QAnon websites' connection to mainstream news and misinformation online, highlighting the outsized role misinformation websites play in spreading the conspiracy. Finally, we leverage the observed relationship between QAnon and misinformation sites to build a highly accurate random forest classifier that distinguishes between misinformation and authentic news sites. Our results demonstrate new and effective ways to study the growing presence of conspiracy theories and misinformation on the Internet.

Over the next few weeks the entire apparatus that is MAGA is going to ramp up. The GOP desperately wants the House so they can put operation chaos in play and start issuing subpoenas to every Dem and their dog walker and kill the current investigations. Its going to get very nasty.
