(32,079 posts)Especially once Steve Bannon goes to prison. He's one of the main orchestrators of her election, and a lot of the push for white nationalism in Italy and other parts of Europe. It will also be interesting to see how Pope Francis deals with it.

(6,846 posts)Even as it was, he was so polarizing that his oponentsm after they executed him, hanged his body upsode down in the public square, and his supportes stole the body and sent iton tour as if it were a holy relic (and vowed to keep the flame of fascism alive - started a new party essentially named "flame" - and that party is still around and Giorgia Meloni is the leader of it now.)

(9,234 posts)There was relatively little antisemitism in fascist Italy before 1938. There were Jews in senior positions in the National Fascist Party, and Mussolini had a Jewish mistress.
The point is, you can have full blown fascism without heavy antisemitism or the extermination camps.
