...I checked and found Florida has a median household income that's $17,0]0+ lower than here in Illinois.
That's a pretty substantial difference.
Your last sentence seems pretty accurate.
There are only 13 states lower.

property must be declining, all that property damage we're witnessing, it's staggering. And then
reports that insurance rates are so high many cannot afford trustworthy home insurance and Florida allows
bare-bones coverage for the loan, not flood insurance. It look like everybody loses, and that's not good for property value. If people
begin to believe climate change is real, that melting the glaciers is inevitable and Florida will be underwater in
the near future, will people buy houses there? Who wants to live with tidal surge and the prospect of floods always looming.

Property taxes are through the roof, however corporations have tax abatements and pay almost no property taxes. WalMart, Lowes, Home Depot do not pay property tax...Homeowners are stuck with the bill.

That’s not bad. But I moved from Maryland where property taxes were 8200 a year for 2story 2300 square foot house so maybe it’s all relative.

..."Cut us a check..." Right. We'll just keep cutting checks until the bootstraps kick in. We know you'll administrate everything fairly and above board.

Gas prices are dropping big-time in Florida. Only for a month though. This was planned a year ago or something.

That relies on tourism and the wealth of retirees that is earned in other states. FL would probably be worse than Alabama if it resided above 40 degrees latitude.

Property values are so high people can’t buy and rents are out of control.
