(7,859 posts)There are several locations that host early voting in Nevada: malls, grocery stores, senior centers, libraries, etc., that are available. Locations move around so that everyone's neighborhood will have a convenient place to cast your ballot. We're going next week.
It's a good system.

I can take my time reading the voter guide and choosing my positions.

(1,947 posts)I always vote in person on Election Day since there is never a line at our voting location. Plus I just like the feeling of actively participating in the process.

(5,510 posts)and I was there Friday morning to cast my vote. I was surprised to see that probably half the machines were in use when I was there. Pretty impressive for a weekday morning six weeks out.

Great! We mailed ours Saturday, straight Dem as well, against fascism and for womens bodily autonomy .. her body, her choice! Seems like they keep forcing us to fight the same fights. The Democrats need to pound the republicans and saturate the media with the Republican cults threats to basically get rid of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. If this is done properly over the next two weeks, I cant see how we dont have big wins for democratic governing over extremist fascist rule by the Republican trump cult.

(10,667 posts)delayed the earliest day ballots can be mailed out to today October 19. That means I have less than three weeks for the ballot to reach me, fill it out, mail it back, and have it received at the Auditors office by 8 PM election day.
Im sure Mr. DeJoy will do his best to make it happen. Im sure I dont need to worry about the Auditors office. When I checked my ballot status yesterday, my application had been received 9/16, and my ballot was mailed 10/19. Well see.

It's an artifact from my younger years... nothing gives me more satisfaction than exiting the booth and dropping the ballot in the box

(5,104 posts)I always voted in person, and I always vote. 100% lifetime voting record.
Showing at the polls on election day was a very big deal for me. I took my son along with me and my wife from the time he was a baby. In 2008--as a 4 year old--he helped ink my ballot for Obama. This year he finally gets his own ballot.
Once the pandemic began we've been getting mail-in ballots. Rather than trusting the mail, we have returned them to a ballot dropbox that is a short walk from our home. We use that and then I track the ballots (anxiously).
I do miss voting on election day in person.
This time I will again use the dropbox, while I long for a return to the norms of the "before-times."

(4,302 posts)I voted by mail for the 2020 primary because of the pandemic but went right back to the polls that November. I had to get in the booth to oust Тяцмр, voting by mail just doesnt feel the same.

(16,399 posts)Anyone can vote absentee in Michigan. I love it. Just drive up to the drop box, roll down the window and drop it in. Voting should be made easier across other states that don't have this. Of course the GOP doesn't want to make it easier. They want to discourage voting. Such patriots!
