2. As a LIFELONG Phillies Fan,
Wearing a classic Red Phillies jacket at work today, I’m with ya 100%.
I’m so old I remember the 23 game losing streak in 1961 and my family joke is That my parents separated when I was six, the Phillies collapsed in 1964 when I was 11… I got over the first trauma but never got over the second. 1980 was redemption and 2008 was remarkable. I bleed Phillies Red. |

I was also 11 in 1964 when the Phils collapsed, and remember the 1961 losing streak...
lived in South Jersey back then.. 1964, that 10 game losing streak, just completely shattered me. and the 1980 WS win was indeed redemption... cried like a baby when they won. Go Phils!!! |

6. Absolutely!!!
The Philadelphia Fanbase is one of the most loyal and vocal in the country, without question. Yesterday on the pregame show, or maybe the post game show, I think it was Frank Thomas who said that in these older northeastern cities these fan bases are deep.
And for you non-Philadelphian’s, I want you to know that the only time Philadelphia fans boo our own players is when they feel that the individual is not trying as hard as he or she should be. |

...when we lived in Swarthmore. I saw Aaron, Mays, F Robby, Koufax, Clemente, you name 'em. And, yes, Dick Allen, who was as talented as any of them, though he didn't always utilize it as well. I will insist to my dying day that Johnny Callison's arm was every bit as good as Clemente's...

29. Poor Johnny Callison...
What a sad life after baseball. Selling cars in Broad St at Kutner Buick and tending bar. He passed away some time ago and his wife died somewhat recently and other than a death notice, I didn’t see any press about her.
Sport nag in 1964 did quite a profile on Johnny and his wife…they were a very attractive couple from Bakersfield, CA. |

12. Give it a rest
That was 5 years ago. Gonna hold a grudge forever? No one has been beating trash cans since then. The Astros keep winning regardless. At least half the players from that 2017 year are not even on the club now. But go ahead, you can persist on them being cheaters if it makes you happy. Funny how this reminds me of Trump and his relentless "I was cheated!" bullshit.
And remember, the Red Sox and Yankees were also cheating in somewhat similar fashion, yet only Houston gets singled out. Whatever. |

23. I grew up about one mile from Comiskey Park in Chicago and have been a
lifelong White Sox fan. I have only rooted for the Yankees two times in my entire life. Once was after 9/11 because I felt that the city could use a lift. The second time was this year (the Yankees lost both times). I might add that I always default to the American League team when faced with a choice, but not this time. I guess the Astros are just a team I love to hate.

26. I have lived in a Houston suburb for almost 70 years...
...back when Houston had only a minor league team, the Houston Colt 45s in the 1950s. They started out in the National league and then moved over to the American league in the 2000s. Those involved in the scandal were fired, almost all the way up to the top. If you think that they are still cheating then prove it. Telling someone who now plays for the Astros that they are cheating is a good way to loose some teeth.

I have watched Trout personally go to kiddos at the games and interact with them, give them baseballs. The look on their faces -- priceless. Hard to watch the Dodgers and the Angels with MLB TV blackouts. No Spectrum where I live and I have DishTV which does not have the LA Sports Net station.

I grew up in Washington Hgts so it was easy to become a Yankees fan since The Mets were not yet a thing.
Then after several years (and my mom taught to often look at, and route for the underdog) of Mad Magazine mercilessly trashing The Mets I began to cheer them on. And why? Besides being NYC'r - have you ever been to a NYC Ticker Tape Parade?!!!
