Election Day is one week away! Who do you think will win?

Obviously, we all want the good guys to win, but with one week till Election Day, what do you think is the most likely scenario?

I am so sorry that I even feel that way. But I just see too many absolutely stupid people gaining headway in elections. That Mehmet Oz and Herschel Walker are even candidates is astounding to me. That they have a chance of actually winning is frightening to me. They have followers who don’t give a damn about democracy. The followers just hate US. With a passion. A passion thick enough that these people get violent.

That January 6th happened and Trump is not in jail is infuriating to me. That women can’t control their own bodies any more is catastrophic to me. Do you know how many times over the years - even on DU - I was told that Roe would NEVER be overturned? And look where we are now.

I have been disappointed that Democrats haven’t fought harder because I believe we are in a war, not a skirmish. I know that Dems try and are hopeful that there are enough sane people left who can see the results of Democratic programs and ideals and want to vote to continue those. But the ordinary electorate is too stupid, or too ill-informed or too angry to take the time to THINK. They are so easily manipulated that it’s pitiful. They’re more interested in a tank of gas than saving the planet. And that scares me.

When those idiots look at someone like John Fetterman, they don’t have compassion for a human being TRYING to do his best to overcome an adversity that he is in no way responsible for. They just see weakness. And it is their loss that they won’t hear him and benefit from his talents. But we suffer the loss because we are inextricably tied to their sorry asses. The only way to defeat that type of thinking is to destroy it, something Dems either haven’t wanted to do or have not been successful at doing.

I voted for every Democrat on my ballot. I’ve contributed and I’ve openly supported and campaigned for Dems like Beto. The state of things, as bad as it is, is a great motivator for me to actually act. I hope that rings true for others.

I want to be wrong.

Please, please, please, let me be wrong.

As much as I hope for Democratic victory, I can't predict the future. I am, however, worried.

I’d say we hold the Senate and 60/40 chance that they’ll win the House. Hope I’m wrong though!

Democrats are not retaining the House. I believe lots of voters above are in for some disappointment.

Most analysts give us a 25% chance. Not great odds but not insurmountable either.

Get away from those and the odds look pretty good, excellent, in fact, for a midterm year when the media keeps screeching about what happens to the party in power.

I already know that Josh Shapiro will win in Pennsylvania.

And I really hope Charlie Crist wins in Florida.
And I really hope Stacey Abrams wins in Georgia.
And wouldn't it be extra nice if Beto O'Rourke wins in Texas?

Please post your favorite governor's candidate here, because I don't know them all.

my predictions for the 15 closest races (this is my first list of predictions for the midterms for governorships)

We win (if we lose any of these, it may be a Red wave election)

Pennsylvania
Michigan
New York
Minnesota
New Mexico

We lose

Florida
Georgia
Iowa
Texas
Oklahoma (my potential wild card upset special for a R to D flip)
Arizona - the closest of the 'we lose' group (GRRRRRRR, Hobbs blew it, IMHO, by refusing to debate, and Lake is a NIGHTMARE)

Complete tossups, with all 4 being the slightest of lean/tilt D atm, if it is a Red wave, we very likely lose all 4, and if it is a good night for us Dems across the nation, we should win all 4

Kansas
Nevada
Oregon (FUCK Betsy Johnson!!! that piece of dogshit may cost us the governorship)
Wisconsin
