CBS "report" just now that candidates are skipping debates
Then they showed about 12 pics of smiling faces without names — or more importantly— party affiliation while newz guy says “these candidates refused to debate.”
Then a map saying it is a growing national trend. But they don’t say who the candidates are and more importantly which party they’re from. How many Democrats do you think are skipping debates? My answer: ZERO. But they don’t make that clear. It’s both sideism without even saying that specifically. ![]()

4. So, this is a "name the Democrats who aren't debating" thread?
Since it is obvious that “My answer: ZERO” is obviously based on your being misinformed, is the idea to get us to name them all?
In Arizona, Hobbs is refusing to give a platform to Kari Lake’s craziness. Some people who do not have access to Hobbs’ internals think that’s a bad idea. The GOP in Arizona rags about this all day long. So, now there is also a DU thread which might as week be titled, “Let’s all repeat Kari Lake’s talking point.” There may be others, but voting has been going on already in many places. It is well past time for the curious belief that these “debates” change anyone’s mind. |

10. Yes, I do
But instead of being proudly ignorant, it does not take a lot of effort to find others, such as PA Governor candidate Josh Shapiro, or Michigan AG Dana Nessel, which are both major statewide races in which the Democratic candidates do not want to platform their election denying opponents. But since your answer was “ZERO” how about you list the Republicans you know off the top of your head. |

17 in 2010; 11 in 2012 and 2016; 14 in 2014 9 in 2018 7 in 2020 to just 6 this year Still not identifying WHO is declining the debates. |

13. Also a bad look ...
Nebraska, gubernatorial candidate Jim Pillen refused to debate Democrat Carol Blood. … “he doesn’t do political theater”.
PA Republican extremist Doug Mastriano rejected a televised debate with an independent moderator. Ted Budd, who sat out four NC primary Senate debates refused to debate Democrat Cheri Beasley. Hershel Walker refusing to debate Warnock …. There are plenty more … |

14. Even the Republican candidates that do come to the debates
don't debate. They just have a mouthful of useless rhetoric ready for any topic and then pivot to their rhetoric. It's not fooling anybody so I guess they figure it's best not to go at all and avoid the risk of saying something stupid.
