We're three days out from an election.
Note how much content - just in general, but particularly in the media - is Twitter, Twitter, Twitter, Twitter.
Still think this wasn't a problem, that we weren't dealing with a massive addiction in our commentary and journalistic classes?
Three days from one of the most important elections in our lifetime.
No one can accuse Republican propaganda or media sneakiness or a plot to distract or any other conspiracy.
A huge chunk of people on our side looked at the oxygen remaining in the room and decided to spend the last three days of it before the election.
May the platform burn and the withdrawals be severe enough to teach a lesson to the addicted (it won't, but one can always hope).

(51,308 posts)People are obsessed with that platform; its quite amazing. And the obsession with Musk, threads about his love life, his kids, his sex life, his intellect, and on and on. Reminds me of another idiot who seems to live in so many heads rent free.
Id be quite happy never to see another tweet here, but I know thatll never happen.
Its a real study in something, not quite sure what lol.

(6,847 posts)but what I have seen here, and I do look at it a good amount, although I know I don't see it all, seems like the equivalent at this point in time of chatting arond the water cooler in, say, yhe fifties and sixties (and, yes, I am tha old.)
I don't see any problem with either. People like to share what they findnteresting, educatinal, and/or encouraging. I get to learn some things I wouldn't learn if Twitter didn't exist.
