since he started doing them in 2015 or whenever. Probably never even clicked on a post here about one. Ignore them has been my motto.
However, something just hit me as I skimmed through twitter. I saw a poster tweet that they (today) just played Qanon music and when TFG mentioned Pelosi the crowd yelled "lock her up!" Just let that sink in. Days after her 82 year old husband was hit in the head with a hammer by one their own. I know we are numb, but OH MY GOD.
I am honestly torn. Is it better to completely ignore these obscene spectacles as I have done for 7 years, or should the mainstream media be calling them out more for how genuinely insane and dangerous they are? There is some coverage, but I think it is sanitized and I am starting to wonder if this is the best strategy.
What do you think?

(16,964 posts)they're coming from, but unfortunately it seems like some viewers don't see it as dangerous. It seems like some commentary is also necessary. As I recall they did show these rallies unedited in 2016 and look where that got us.

(7,832 posts)the draw he once had..auditoriums/stadiums more than half empty..those imbeciles attending Trump's ego masturbation rallies are more like groupies following a favorite rock band than breaching the Capital types..they come to hear the trigger words.. "hoax/FBI/Merrick Garland/RINO/Mitch McConnell/Biden/Hunter/Hillary (now Nancy Pelosi)"..they come to chant ("Lock her up!" , hiss and boo..great fun..and then they leave, long before the orange cretin shuts up because his scuzzy faithful have heard it all before..that's what I see...

(16,964 posts)but the problem is not everyone is as intelligent and perceptive as we are. And the media doesn't point out how small the crowds are.

Millennials are getting their news and information from podcasts, TicTok, Meidas Touch, and a myriad of social media venues..MSNBC/CNN/FOX..the same tired hosts/the same go-to rotating guests commenting on the latest Trump outrage ..millennials live on their phones, will not answer a number not in their contacts..pollsters can't get to them, and like my 25 year old granddaughter said how she votes is nobody's damn business..

(2,254 posts)..with the exception of added exaggeration. Kinda' like the 'big fish that got away' story where the size of the fish gets bigger with each telling. Trump doesn't have to prove anything so he can stretch the line of bullshit indefinitely.

(32,677 posts)who is still walking around freely and inciting more violence and more terrorism. It's infuriating because I know that a woman, Democrat and/ or a person of color would have been locked up or in the middle of his/her trial by now.

(1,772 posts)remember watching a part of one of his supposedly famous biggest and best ever rallies back before the 2016 run-up. I saw bits of another one earlier this summer again. Frankly, it sounds like the same stupid stage show, just with some "stolen election" crap sprinkled on top.
To me, it's not much different than those Friday night showings of Rocky Horror Picture Show that we used to go when we were bored in college. All it cost was 50 cents and a roll of toilet paper, and you were part of the crowd. The Trump rallies just remind me of that for some reason.
One would think that after all of the embarrassment that guy has suffered, people wouldn't want to be associated with him any longer. But yet, they still show up in droves.
I say just ignore the circus and let it wither away. It will sooner or later.
