Ukraine appears to have secured all of Kherson west of the Dnipro but

What exactly happened to the Russian army is obscured by the fog of War.

with extreme caution because Putin can not be trusted at all. Russia ordered their soldiers to ditch their uniforms for civilian clothing. They left behind tons of mines and other dangerous items.

That said, yay for Ukraine.

The Russians botched their retreat, so they left a lot of people behind that a better-led army would have evacuated. Just what percentage of them are still dangerous remains to be seen.

Not hard to evacuate troops over a river if they have a working bridge like that.

It's arguably a good thing that there was no slaughter of Russian troops on the banks of the river- killing troops trying to escape would inflame emotions in Russia. Better to just have positive tv images of Ukrainian troops being welcomed into Kherson.
