Ivanka Trump Tried to Dodge Her Court-Appointed Financial Monitor
NOT FOR THEE
The Trumps were all appointed a court monitor to supervise their finances. Only Ivanka tried to get out of it.

Ivanka Trump tried and failed last week to slink out of having a court-appointed monitor watch her financial moves, as New York prosecutors worry the Trump Organization and its executives may quietly try to relocate assets in anticipation of law enforcement action, according to a source familiar with those deliberations.
In private letters, Ivankas attorneys tried to exclude herand only herfrom a New York state judges order that laid out how the family company is going to be overseen in the coming months, this source said.
On Thursday, Justice Arthur F. Engoron took the boldest move yet against the former presidents company. He gave the Trump Organization two weeks to give retired federal judge Barbara S. Jones "a full and accurate description of the corporate structure, empowering her to review "all financial disclosures to any persons or entities" by the company. The Trumps must also inform the judge 30 days in advance of shifting any assets, ensuring they cannot outrun the New York attorney general's $250 million lawsuit.
AG Letitia James three-year investigation exposed how the family-run company routinely inflated the value of the properties it owns to snag better bank loans or maximize tax-write offs for donated land. She filed a lawsuit in September against the companys various entities, some of its top brass, former President Donald Trump, and the offspring he made executives there: Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.
Despite Ivanka Trumps strong, last-minute plea to escape scrutiny, Engoron was unmoved. The final order does not give her preferential treatment or even name her, meaning she too must abide by the rules.

(526 posts)Just incase you have forgotten leona helmsley stated that "We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes." and then she was prosecuted and sent to prison. The trump's are of the same mind set and a simple court order will not change that. Look for other ways the trump's will try to skirt the law.

(38,533 posts)I mean if it even enters their minds of how lucky they are.
I post this in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
Yeah, they're being sued for $250 million. But the good news for them is the actually have $250 million to lose.
Can they even begin to fathom what it's like for people like us where a lousy $1200 auto repair can mean we have to scramble to pay the mortgage or feed our families?
Not being able to fix the leak in the roof because you just don't have the money?
Having your stove or refrigerator break and not being able to afford to replace it?
Needing to see a doctor, but your health insurance was too expensive (especially when you still have to make co-pays and deductibles)?
Of course I realize that they may not care about the rest of us. But I wonder if they ever just look at themselves (even without empathy for anyone else) and realize how they really don't have a whole hell of a lot to complain about--in the grand scheme of things.

(5,092 posts)Because of the 'glamour' involved, I met many very, very rich people. And, I even got to be casual acquaintances with a few. So, let me answer your question from the perspective of someone who was around them after a few drinks in a casual atmosphere.
Not one clue. They are oblivious to anyone who has less than they do. Plus, complaining about finances is the hallmark of the wealthy. Face it, the only cry I ever hear from any of them is "I am not rich enough!" I think they do it because they know it pisses us off. But, that is just my opinion.

count the Saudi money that went through the UAE to pay off Jared's note of $1.1 billion on his his W. 5th
property or the the $2 billion in Saudi money he got after TFG left the White House.

(12,568 posts)Would the same term be used if it were Don Jr. who was trying to void the judicial order? The sentence, "Donald Trump Jr. failed to slink out of having a court-ordered monitor supervise his financial moves," would get you laughed out of the newsroom.
