7. Hershel reminds me of a guy who worked on the same job I was on.

This was in 1966, I was working on a construction job. As a favor to someone, the company hired a punch drunk prize fighter to toss trash into the flatbed truck. An important job, actually, keeping the job site safe.

But every time the truck backed up, the warning bell would ring and the fighter would come up swinging. They had to let him go the second day before he injured himself or someone else.

I'm not so crazy about Lincoln Project telling viewers that Walker's statements -- extremely well crafted by expert RW political manipulators -- don't make sense. LPers are also expert RW political manipulators, and they know that's not true.

The rhetoric Walker delivers -- competently -- is intended to amp up all the MAGA fears and resentments. It refers to all the pertinent RW deceit narratives, and dogwhistles all the racist nastiness their voters like to think isn't a big motivator. Note that that first "vampire" clip is all about white racism against Reverend Warnock! -- be very afraid of the satanic BLACK MENACE. Good trick for a black candidate to pull off against another black candidate, this one a Baptist minister!, but I thought it worked.

Of course I hope their technique works on those they're trying to influence against what the GOP's running these days. Some RW Georgians did ticket-split against Walker, but will they and others go to the polls mainly to vote against him?
