I recall hearing once that a neighbor abused a kid in a wheelchair. If true, I wonder why i only heard the story just the one time. I believe the neighbor reformed himself.

23. In Costco few hours ago a guy was talking to his wife

Super angry and loud, as I walked by I heard him say happy hollidays is bull shit it should be merry Christmas. Then went on to more cuss words and saying it just isn't right.

I watched him and started laughing, told my husband well doesn't that guy spread Christmas cheer? Hubby said heh let's follow him and I will say happy hollidays to you! I said no way that guy looks like he would punch you.

I just thought it was so weird, he was upset obviously from a religious perspective and yet if Jesus was around I bet he would say hey, I'm about peace and love ya know!

When I was in elementary school we moved to a farm that only had a party line with about 10 households in our small town.

Everyone could hear your business. Never spent much time on the phone because of it. In fact to this day I am slightly phone phobic.

It wasn't until I was about to graduate high school did my parents get a private line.

I'd forgotten about party lines. Thanks for the reminder.

...my ex-wife's family lived in a small town in Iowa of population 600, and were on a party line with several rural neighbors. When they were listening, we used to make up stuff on the phone just to watch the rumors fly, and mess with their heads.

The whole (fundamentalist) town thought we were going to Las Vegas to elope, which was quite the scandal at the time, since I'm atheist.

That was back in the mid-1970s.

The whole idea of a party line just sorta freaked me out.
