(55,033 posts)I call it out when I see it, but no one else seems to care. People who are rightfully horrified at slurs against various other groups somehow think it's perfectly fine if the target group doesn't have a big enough lobby or something.

(852 posts)Some say it is a slur against the Welsh. Others hypothesize that those owing money incurred during, say, horse betting in London, would head to Wales, which made it tough for them to be found. But having to explain that your language was not meant as an ethnic slur is not a good look.
