They saved the election from being stolen.

Why you would want to call them losers makes NO sense.

I was talking about those who were sure the election would be stolen by hacked machines etc.

The election was NOT stolen. We won, in the manner that Nate Silver and others predicted.

12. Right

The reason it wasn't stolen was because the few, the proud and the brave stood up against all the crap that was slung at them from the deep denialists, like you, who just can't get it through their thick skulls that the republican owned voting machines are there to STEAL elections.

You should be thanking those E-vote activists that it wasn't stolen.

that's it.

SNOPES has an article that may interest you. >>>> http://www.snopes.com/politics/romney/votingmachines.asp <<<<

I'm not a denialist. I'm a realist. I believe that Republicans attempted to win by voter suppression. I believe that paper ballots are essential. I believe that we need a standardized system of voting in national elections. I believe that 2000 was stolen ala voter purging and the SCOTUS stopping the vote count.

I do not believe that "republican owned voting machines" made a bit of difference in the last election. I said as much prior to the election.

I do not believe that "republican owned voting machines" made a bit of difference in the last election.

Reason number one is because it is too soon to tell just how many votes were stolen. In 2008 the math said about 7 million were stolen from Obama.

Number two is the history and the science behind the machines informs everyone who studies the story that to have a belief like yours is to be in denial.

But the real kicker here is that you lump a whole lot of smart brave people into the loser category. That is shameful and can only be excused because you are in denial. If not denial then you are an enemy of free and fair elections, and I have no reason to suspect that; so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Whatever floats the conspiracy boat, dude.

I tire of reading how our votes don't matter because "they're going to steal it with hacking, anyway." Those who said so, were wrong. You are free to disagree. But the end result is now clear:

I have a history of working with Diebold machines as a former accountant. I am comfortable with a system that has a paper trail. I think we'll have bipartisan agreement on that?

I do not agree with you that votes were stolen in 2008, because someone deems it so, sorry. Though, it took me a while to come to this conclusion. How did I reach this conclusion? Simple. Nate Silver's model was accurate, as were other credible election models. Given his model is based upon former election results, and former polling comparisons, I'd say he proved many conspiracy theorists wrong last night, as well as Republicans. If Nate Silver, Sam Wang and others were to disagree with me on this, I'd reconsider.

Question for you. How could Nate Silver and other models be so accurate with 7 million votes stolen in 2008?

Peace

18. You called us losers
Wed Nov 7, 2012, 06:14 PM
Nov 2012

You believe we are losers.

E-vote activists are real winners. The attention we were able to focus on the potential for theft severely limited the amount of votes that could be stolen. You should be thanking them for their efforts to gain free and fair elections. NOT calling them losers. They are winners.

20. You're confusing what you think I meant, with what I actually said.
Wed Nov 7, 2012, 06:20 PM
Nov 2012

I said those who claimed the election would be stolen were wrong. They were. The election was not stolen. Obama won. Simple, really.

Andy Stephenson was friend of mine, here. Not sure if you're familiar? ... I am not opposed to e-voting activists demanding a paper trail. QUITE THE CONTRARY. I am among those who support regular audits and a paper trail!

However, I am opposed to the defeatist conspiracy theorists who suggests voting is an exercise in futility because Karl Rove controls the universe, and that widespread "fraud" requires us to demand state issued voter ID's etc.

We presumably agree, that we need more confidence in our electoral system? That, in and of itself is a problem.

24. That's much clearer
Wed Nov 7, 2012, 06:56 PM
Nov 2012

It is obvious the election was not stolen.

It is obvious, to me, that the reason it was not stolen was because those who were proclaiming it would be stolen made it impossible for it to be stolen.

Why did they proclaim it would be stolen? Because they were not in denial that it could be stolen.

As one of those who backed those loudly proclaiming that it would be stolen if Rove could get away with stealing it, it behooved me to step in and object that they were unfairly labeled, as you did in the OP, as losers. They are winners.

It took a bit of discussion to clear that up and that's what DU is for.

I hope my belligerency was accepted in the spirit in which it was delivered. I am so tired of those brave people being dumped on; called losers and CTers and all that crap.
