are the mailman, walking away from the barking dog.
The dog thinks he scared away the mailman.
I fear that by the time he's indicted, the country will have already concluded that if he was sitting free this whole time, he must be innocent.

(15,568 posts)First of all, Do Trumps recent rants sound like that of a man who thinks hes going to get away with everything?
Second, polls have shown that Americans can tell the difference between Trumps and Bidens document cases, and think Trump should be held accountable for his crimes.
I think your fears are unfounded.

That's what pisses me off. He doesn't think he has ruined his life. He is incapable of worry or regret. My only hope is if the cell door ever slams behind him, all of the above will make it that much more horrifying for him.

Mr.Bill
(24,262 posts)but I really think he has no fear of consequences at all. He's gotten away with everything he's done in his life. I don't think he sees the current circumstances as any different.

(4,999 posts)He has no fear of consequences because he has, as you correctly point out, always gotten away with it.
But, that doesn't mean he isn't tormented by the possibility of not getting away with it this time. Recent court actions have been smacking him down, and the legal consequences are getting closer to him every day. He has lost in NY, looks like Georgia may be acting soon, Jack Smith is moving fast with the case DOJ handed him.
Still doesn't mean teflon Don will be locked up or lose everything, but he's in the deepest sh*t he's ever faced and from multiple fronts.
