It made my day to read that the judge didn't grant his delay:
Donald Trump is headed to trial in New York City this spring in writer E. Jean Carrolls lawsuit alleging he raped her and then defamed her by saying she was lying about the sexual assault, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Manhattan Federal Court Judge Lewis Kaplan set an April 25 trial date hours after Trumps lawyers asked him to push the case back to June.
Kaplan said he is yet to resolve whether the trial will consolidate the two suits Carroll has against Trump.
Carroll filed the first lawsuit against Trump, which includes defamation claims, in Manhattan Supreme Court in 2019 when he called her a liar after she accused him of rape.

This one's going to leave a mark.
As the very first suit filed under the newly enacted Adult Survivors Act in NY state, her victory (which I believe is forthcoming) in this case is a victory for every woman he has done this to because you know it is not the first time. Ivana said he raped her. I feel a profound sense of sadness for them, even Ivana because no one deserves that. There are probably some who have never even spoken about it.

With mitochondrial DNA, a common female link could be determined...Trump's mother and Mary's Grandmother would show up identical to the mitochondrial in the sperm stain. Mary's father can be eliminated because he was dead at the time of the rape. Trump's brother, Robert, could be the rapist. I don't know who the MIT uncle's mother was.

(4,575 posts)under NY state's newly enacted Adult Survivors Act. Judge Kaplan is not tolerating any foolishness. In fact, Alina Habba had to bow out of this case as his lawyer because she was sanctioned $1 million over a pattern of frivolous and vexatious litigation.
Trump's new lawyer is Joe Tacopina, who most recently, represented insurrectionist Julian Khater who received a sweet 7 1/2 years in prison for his troubles on 1/6. I hope he's being paid in cash.

(3,511 posts)Trump offers DNA sample in rape case -- but legal experts think he's 'playing a game'

It sounds like a continuation of the dilatory tactics that Trump uses all the time, said Albert Scherr, a University of New Hampshire law school professor and a leading expert on forensic DNA evidence. As a general rule, Trump's lawyers in every venue have the strong propensity to delay and delay and muck things up.
A source told the website that Trump's team hasn't yet made the offer to Carroll's attorneys, and legal experts suspect it's not genuine because the deadline for opposing sides to exchange evidence has already passed, but now his lawyers can tell jurors the DNA was offered but not tested.
It's referred to as consciousness of liability evidence,'" said Edward J. Imwinkelried, a retired law professor at University of California, Davis. "You can draw an adverse inference from the fact that someone refused to participate in relevant scientific testing."
Even if the former president sent his DNA to the lab for testing, the results wouldn't be admissible at trial unless the judge reopens discovery, which would delay the trial, and U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan this week told Trump's lawyers the case was moving forward on schedule to a trial starting April 25.
