Sen. Fetterman checks himself into hospital for clinical depression
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who suffered a near-fatal stroke last year, checked himself into the hospital on Wednesday night to receive treatment for clinical depression, his office said on Thursday.
In a statement, Fetterman’s chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, said the senator voluntarily admitted himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington to receive treatment for clinical depression on the recommendation of the attending physician of Congress, Brian P. Monahan, who on Monday evaluated the senator. On Wednesday, “Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed,” Jentleson said. “John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis,” Jentleson said. “After examining John, the doctors at Walter Reed told us that John is getting the care he needs, and will soon be back to himself.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/02/16/fetterman-hospital-clinical-depression/ I hope he is feeling better soon.

2. A lot of things can cause clinical depression.
Genetics, medications - especially heart meds and stations, or brain chemistry imbalances.
It's not just "feeling blue". And those who suffer from it need therapy as well as medication, because just medication can bring the suffering patient to the point that the clouds are parting, but they are overwhelmed by the hole they dug themselves into while depressed and decide to just end it. That's what gives antidepressants a bad name. Haele |

4. Churchill suffered from depression. Fetterman will be fine and gain something
from perceiving the world without subjective emotion for a time. He has suffered from this before and no doubt it has made him more perceptive and caring. They have great treatments. Vibes to him. He will be back. He will be wise. He will be well.

5. Good for him to recognize he has a problem and deal with it.
It has to suck for him to be nailed with the medical issues that are effecting his work in the Senate.
