But at the time it was a freakish occurrence (and an autopsy revealed that Whitman had a brain tumor, though they weren't sure whether that caused or contributed to his action); nobody thought this would ever keep happening.

5. He was found to have a brain tumor later. If only there were some explanation for those today.

Obviously, an understandable reason doesn't bring the victims back, but it makes it a little less inexplicable and maybe even preventable..

That took the lives of dozens of kids and adults. But unlike today, mass murder events were truly rare and there wasn't a fox 24/7 hate network recruiting home grown terrorists
