I must have missed the importance of the murder trial

Being broadcasted on almost all the cable n network channels. Why? Is this an important person? Are there no other issues for the media to be covering?

4. From everything I heard in clips, this man lost it.

His financial problems, his drug usage and the burden of his son's reckless disregard for human life and his wife forcing him to shovel horseshit finally got to him. He snapped and didn't do a great job of hiding all the tell tale signs, where he was at the time of the murders.

and it will be an absolute travesty of justice if the man is not found guilty of murder.

It’s a case that will be studied by law students from here on out because it is so complex and unique. I can totally understand why some don’t see its significance or write it off as a trivial media feeding frenzy but it deserves the attention it’s getting.

If people don't tune in, then TV stations don't cover things.
I've managed to not see a single minute of this trial. It's pretty easy.
There is an easy solution if you don't want to see it, but apparently a lot of people's TVs aren't able to change channels, so they post about how awful it is that something they don't want to watch is on TV.
