Feeling overwhelmed

Seeing what is happening around our country and the unvarnished hate that Republicans aren't even hiding anymore, feeling a little overwhelmed.

I see DeSantis as way more organized than Trump ever was. What he is doing in Florida, completely unchallenged, is terrifying. He has a real possibility of winning as an alternative to trump.

SCOTUS is irrevocably broken and completely in the pocket of the Republican Party.

So much more but I'll stop. Just needed to vent.

We won the Presidency and Congress in 2020, and held on, against all odds, and increased the Senate, with a small majority of Republicans in the House in 2022. Both are huge successes.

Fight like hell, and the Democrats in Congress and President Biden are doing the same.

I live in FL and really feel your pain. I've been trying to uninvest myself in politics-it's too depressing.

feel overwhelmed and discouraged, and give up.

All we can do is our best, and sometimes we just have to take a breath. Take a nice, long breath, and know that your sisters and brothers are here for you, for all of us.

Don’t despair too long..scream, cuss, throw something but get out of the dark place quickly and know it won’t consume you. Yes..deep breaths help to get some oxygen into our brains n system n then resolve to never ever give up. Get up..don’t give up. I’m telling you what I do! Every so often when I feel a meltdown, I always come here to get straight.. sometimes it’s the humor or an in-depth article and always the pet videos! Can’t worry about what hasn’t happened but we can fight the good fight by getting involved by volunteering..I walked thru two precincts for Biden and the fear of another four years of tfg was all the energy I needed! You’ll be just fine ☀️

It’s keeping me from going any deeper that a paragraph or two into most news stories. The details are just too depressing.

I hear you.

Yeah, I'm in another country, but am in despair about the US and world situation. We're OK here in Australia, politically. Things are still reasonably sane here. Why is this, when so much of the world in on the brink?

Do we give up and allow a 'Black Mirror-esqe' reality overtake us? In many ways, it's happening already.

I have only one answer. Continue to act decently and honestly. Continue to help others, and do the right thing. Hopefully the good will prevail.

Hang in there buddy, I'm right there with you.

When the outside world and your family are falling apart, it gets really difficult to cope and maintain any type of positive outlook. Like you, I could go on and on, especially living in the state of FL, but not going to. Instead, I'm going to take care of fur babies, then maybe go out to lunch and use the free card my daughter gave me and then sit on the deck and read and really enjoy all the birds that are nesting and singing in back while indulging in some herbal stress relief.
