"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"

1. Yes, that applies to Congress

It didn’t apply to the states until the 14th Amendment.

The Civil War changed this country in more ways than simply ending slavery. It resulted in greater liberty for all Americans.

Yes, you are correct. This didn't apply for all of us until.. The Civil War..(1861-1865)

an obscenity-laced thumping rap tune from the open driver's window; maybe even a few mph too many, but it got her noticed for sure. We made her count and roll her saved pennies to pay her fine, but I think she did learn something about loudly communicating disrespect for the community and the speed limit.
