A special grand jury just recommended over a dozen people be indicted in Georgia. Willis has all but made it official she is going to bring forth indictments. In Georgia they are not investigating people who stormed the Capital. They are investigating the top coup plotters.
To still believe no one at the top will be indicted is unrealistic. The chances of you being wrong are very good.
Also, Smith is moving forward aggressively in both of his investigations. He is investigating Trump and the top coup plotters.
Basing your beliefs on investigations of the past, the belief the investigations are taking too long. Does not match up with the reality of what is actually taking place in all the investigations.

(35,948 posts)a regular grand jury to examine the special gj's recommendations. She'll have to populate the regular gj, then they'll have to do the work of examining everything the sgj decided. So by grand jury timelines, her description of "imminent" still holds.

As for SC Smith, his two criminal grand juries are ongoing, hearing testimony and seeing evidence until Mar, 2024. But his cgj's have gotten so high up in Trump's inner circle (had Pence's Chief of Staff in three times) that Pence and Meadows are the only majors left, with Ivanka and Jared only being inner circle confirmers of evidence & testimony from Trump people.
As to when, August looks good at the earliest. By end of year at the latest.
None of this is sufficient to satisfy naysayers who want to know everything and see action now, but this is as good as Americans get when ongoing investigations can't be revealed.
This should catch you up on things.

The fact of the matter is that it has been over two years since we witnessed, live and in color, the President of the United States urging a takeover of the nation by invading the Capitol, by force, in order to illegally continue his presidency. Yet, still, the man is living a life of luxury, continuing spread lies and recruit anarchists, and is running for president again; now those are the facts.

Indicted together, they will be relatively silent and powerless.

(4,437 posts)and lots of crooked lawyers and lobbyists from multiple countries behind them. They have so many they are investigating at the same time and they don't want it to be a waste of time, nor have room for appeal.
Unfortunately, there are many people sitting in jails waiting for a trial for, sometimes, years. Lets just hope the bastards get their due punishment before much longer, so we can have faith in the justice system again.

I don't know why I feel like the Prince Harry stuff is a less weird investment than this tussling over who's better at predicting a future that has yet to arrive.
It's like if I went into the kitchen right now and said to my partner, "I think it might not rain later," and he responded, "How dare you! Of course it's going to rain!" then stormed out of the room in indignation. Then I poke head around the corner and shout at his back as he retreats up the stairs, "This is why no one likes your cooking!"
I mean, one of us will be right. Seems weird to take it so personally.
