BALTIMORE House Democrats embraced three favorite words during their annual retreat: Speaker Hakeem Jeffries.
As the new Congress enters its third month, Democrats are full of bluster about their chances of recapturing the majority next year and handing Jeffries the gavel. Some lawmakers made possibly intentional verbal flubs, referring to their majority leaders, as they talked about efforts to unite behind a winning 2024 message.
Hakeem Jeffries is an incredible leader. Hes an historic leader. He is the first person of color to lead a party in Congress, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) said in an interview, also hailing Democrats diversity. It is our goal to make Hakeem Jeffries speaker.
This years Baltimore gathering marked a fresh test not just for Jeffries, but for the entire new troika of leaders, including Clark and Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.). While lawmakers wouldnt draw direct comparisons to their former head trio, they were endlessly optimistic that the new generation of leaders would usher in a younger, more diverse and unified caucus the last aspect essential if they want any hope of winning the House majority next year.

(86,569 posts)With the new rules for ousting the Speaker, this could happen sooner than later with the help of just a few Rs. And get rid of Santos.
Seriously, since it only takes one R to call for a vote to elect the Speaker, get someone to do that and convince three more of them to vote for Jeffries and it's a done deal.
There re plenty of Rs who are pissed at Kkkevvy for the release of security videos that now would be a good time to get 'er done.

(70,087 posts)that at least a couple of the insurrectionists dont last their term.
not holding my breath, but id bet real money that there is someone tasked w making that happen.
like, i cant believe dan goldman isnt looking at allll the traitors.
like i said in that other thread- they dont see election results as final. so why should we?
I am anticipating some arrests coming for some of the loudmouths this summer, to be honest. It would be good to have their removals sooner than later but I'll take it as it comes. The enablers will be getting theirs. We have, probably, the strongest, most intelligent caucus we may have ever had. I can see the House flipping back, maybe before the next election. Unseen things are taking place, I am trying to be patient about the results I expect in the end.

Politico is a German news organization with former Wall Street Journal pros in editorial positions

Troika is a Russian origin word btw

With the RW howling about Dems being socialists, is it in our interest to further spread such descriptives about the promising new leadership?
Words matter. Psyops are subtle and real.
And btw the RW Greed & Theocratic Zealot masters have a long history of tanking our economy hoping to suppress voter enthusiasm.
Didnt stop Obama or FDR from winning. Just saying.
They did stop President Carter, Al Gore & Hilary Clinton 😢😢
We cannot lose 2024.
Lets use our words carefully.
