With Trump at his weakest point politically, Republicans would be wise to cut him loose now.

If they cannot find a way to do that, they may find themselves burdened with the albatross once again in 2024?

Judging from the attendance at the annual CPAC convention, Trump is probably the weakest he has been since he came down the escalator in 2016. Many prominent Republicans did not show up for the CPAC celebration of insanity.

This is an existential moment for the Republican Party. It they continue to cling to Donald Trump and his policies, it will not help them in future elections.

But, it is not only the Republican Party that should take note of Trump's political weakness at this time. I'm sure it is not lost on the prosecutors that have been investigating his many crimes.

Trump would still hold a lot of power with only 20% that would follow him off a cliff (actually Trump could convince them to jump first).

If they don’t throw this crazy criminal overboard they are all complicit in his crimes.
Wringing their hands in private or off the record or it is “ rumored” that they want him gone… NO.
Get to a microphone and kick his ass to the curb.
This is what every Democrat should be saying!

They deserve everything that's coming their way over the next 12-16 months.

but the bigger problem is that the GOP can't win without the racists & zealots. They've been courting these two groups for decades.

Many party insiders/donors have been looking for an exit ramp.

I think it will take indictments for the dam to break.

Once that happens, hopefully before the GOP debates begin, Trump’s opponents and even FOX will pounce and tear him to shreds.

FOX and the Republican establishment will craft a narrative that, because of this criminal cloud hanging over him, Trump is unelectable. The polls will begin to reflect that narrative.

The die hard MAGA will never abandon him, but a significant portion of the American electorate make their voting decisions based on who they think can win, and will look elsewhere.

IIRC, the GOP debates are slated to begin in August; indictments rolling out starting in spring (Georgia) and continuing throughout the summer would be perfect timing, IMO.

But, we do have an impressive roster of candidates to select from, if Pres. Biden doesn't run again (I don't know if he's decided 100% to run again or not).

Loser (tRUMP) will be a guarantee of a win for democrats again. I want to send fear into the hearts of republicans everywhere, as they really let it sink in again, that they are on their way to another loss. Ha ha heh. I have a special batch of popcorn and a bottle of wine sitting by the wayside, to celebrate.
