When they reach their early 60’s.

Happened to my husband recently, and at least 20 other people I know. It’s not so easy to find new employment at that age.

For me, to make sense to wait until 70, rather than 66 years 4 months, I have to be confident that I will live beyond 85. One just has to do the math - calculate it all out.

Easy for you, maybe, but for a carpenter or roofer or other manual labor jobs, it may not be possible to wait that long. Everyone’s situation is different. These lawmakers have the luxury of jobs that don’t require heavy lifting, etc…they just sit and pass laws that will most likely not fit everyone.

and not wait till 66. I figured that 4 years at a reduced amount was better than 4 years of nada, zilch, zip, goose egg. Then croak and kiss all bye-bye.

And if I take it early 60s it's like 800 some dollars if I wait till I'm 70 I get like 1800
That'll be the difference between groceries and eating dog food imo

journey thus far would go since we married in 1970. We had a plan - it crashed and burned circa 1981. We even have a LW&T drawn up after the kids were born, but it does now need a tiny update. I keep looking for the fatal flaw(s). Repukes? Zip codes? Life skills? For all that it matters now, I have as much education as I could get without a school loan after marriage; DH too - didn't have 2 year colleges then...But he's nearly 4 years older and a drafted veteran of the VietNam conflict who still needs to work at age 75. It feels so much like we were targeted. We'll never recover our plan. We won't ever have our own home again or travel or be healthy forever. We worry most about the kids, our daughter and SIL, our grandson entering the teen years, and our single daughter who so wanted a family of her own. Be kind and remember, the hardest thing to do: make wise choices, EX500rider. Even those might not be turn out cruelty free.

feeble attempt to give themselves a claim of legitimacy about "reforming" SS. They want to raise the age to 70. How about if they do we demand that Congressional pensions also have to wait until age 70. Since they're bitching about spending that should certainly cut it some. Also no more Congressional health care plan. They can jolly well use the Affordable Care Act. No more Congressional Dining Room. No more anything other than their salary and they can jolly well struggle like all of us to figure out the rest.
