As a blue dot in a red section of a blue state, I am painfully fluent in redneck. What I have noticed through my years is that these people, the Fox News viewers et al (Including OAN and the rest up to and including things like the 700 Club, etc) will suspend logic, reason, truth and facts if it means they can spite the left.

They will do it openly just to see it get your goad. They don't CARE that they're wrong (they're probably just used to that) They want to see you suffer. The more frustrated you are, the better.

I know some will try to marginalize what I am saying, but I promise you, it is true. I hope other blue peeps in red areas will chime in...because they offer a valuable insight to the state of things.

Red peeps LOVE authoritarians...as long as it's THEM in charge...and NOTHING is more important to them than that. I mean NOTHING...not logic, not reason, not truth and not facts.

They like to see suffering and they want us to be the ones doing it...the more, the better, and there is no bottom...and this is why...

We need to tether the chicken around their necks and let it rot. I'll explain...

When a farm dog storms the coop and claims a chicken, the farmer uses chicken wire to tether the dead chicken around its neck. This is a nasty business as the carcass rots and smells, it makes the dog absolutely miserable. After the gross ordeal, the barn dog never messes with the chickens again.

The only thing that works with them is ridicule, shame and might. Not logic, not reason, not truth, and not facts. Tether that chicken motherfucker. Because even they can smell

for my suggestion (well, I used to be when I interacted with more people...lol), but after a lifetime of trying every approach with MAGA types, I recommend shunning. Don't give them any more of our energy, attention or understanding, assuming many of us here have tried that over and over and over again to no avail.

Remove them from our lives. Don't frequent their establishments or pay for their services when possible, understanding it's not always possible to know they're MAGA or to not engage their services. Still, when we have a reasonable choice, I think we should shun them. Make them and their beliefs completely unacceptable in civil society. Sure, they'll call it cancel culture but so what. Don't try to explain it or point out the hypocrisy. It's all useless. You can't have reasonable, rational interactions with irrational, hateful people.

There's a way to do it, when you are surrounded, that can be both smart and effective.

You definitely need to outsmart them. Not a tall order!

Somehow my red spot in a blue state is so far maintaining civility. We even booted out a harsh rw county sheriff for..a less rw one... No real political violence here yet.

Thanks and props to the handful of "out" Dems here who refuse to let the baddies shuffle us off to no-seeu-m land. I am told by some that I'm "brave" to erect my Dem candidate signs during elections. So long as we are still a democracy, nobody gonna shut me down! Neighbor did paint tfg name in orange on a boulder on the hill above our house...

Also, a rw evangelical church is taking over elected positions at the local level - installing cronies. We gotta keep an eye on them.
