It is hard to describe how stupid the MAGA Republicans are. They act like nobody will notice that they were part of then Coup of Fools and now want to investigate the investigators. This will backfire on them big time. This will refocus the news media attention back on them and what they did. MSNBC is now showing the video of Loudermilks traitor tours the day before the attack on the Capital.
Carry on fools.

(21,304 posts)Just guessing here now, but Loudermilk was the Congressman who led the tour of the Capitol on Jan. 5th where we have video of one of his "tourists" taking pictures of stairwells and tunnels. The next day this "tourist" was one of the many insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol. We all know that DOJ doesn't leak, so even if Loudermilk is a Republican, I am pretty sure that DOJ has spoken with him about why he gave this tour when tours were banned. Why maybe even a subpoena or an indictment is imminent? Who knows? It's only been 26 months.
Don't Worry, Be Happy.

(268,930 posts)Loudermilk should end up in prison - he is one of the coup plotters
One more thing - tours were officially shut down because of Covid - investigate this piece of shit.

(4,913 posts)There is a reason why people like Loudermilk want to investigate the investigators. They are afraid and they are desperate.

(21,304 posts)I think Loudermilk believes he is above the law. Remember when I said that Trump was smart to use politicians, cabinet members, lawyers to commit crimes for him? It takes longer to investigate those people because they all claim numerous privileges. Loudermilk was not held accountable and what that does is embolden him. Remember also Garland said many times he would not be partisan, I still have no idea who he was speaking to.
So far the only big name exception to politicians being above the law has been Scott Perry who was a key player in the fake elector scheme. The FBI did seize his phone 7 months ago and maybe in 4 or 5 more months they will be able to actually look at what is on his phone. In the meantime Perry is on a committee investigating the FBI.
Does anyone, anyone, see a pattern here?
Disclaimer, numerous fake electors who are politicians are being investigated by both Smith and Willis, but we do not know if they are targets or witnesses. Fani may have targeted them I believe, that's probably why they passed the law to be able to fire her.

(2,992 posts)...if indictments against key politicians or lawyers related to J6 were announced during their hearing?
Not holding my breath, but it would be a joy to see.

(7,812 posts)we don't know, that their names (or at least their roles) haven't been published, tells me something. Tells me the names might be evidence in an investigation.
And you might be right.
Or....TPTB don't want it known that elected officials participated in a conspiracy to conduct a coup. That our elected POTUS was as corrupt as most of the world's dictators are. TPTB might want the world to think we are above banana republic moves like that.

(6,818 posts)constitution is not condusive to prosecuting wrongdoing by legislators. It goes against the logic of regularly scheduled elections. That being, if there are regular opportunities to eject wrongdoers at the ballot box there is no need for strong and flexible self-policing provisions.
Again, the FF's failed at long term prognostication but politicians still wow the crowd every time they "swear" to uphold their legacy.
