What’s Going On With Mitch McConnell’s Hands?

Earlier this week, an arresting image emerged online: a tightly cropped photograph of discolored, purplish hands bearing a few small bandages, limply hanging from the sleeves of a black suit. They belonged to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Due to its haunting nature, the photo — which was captured on October 20 — quickly took off on social-media platforms.

Speculation about McConnell’s health abounded, and people pointed out that the area around his mouth also appeared bruised. There were several theories as to what could have happened, with some even wondering whether he might have had the coronavirus. A few days later, McConnell seemed to address the online uproar directly, insisting that absolutely nothing is wrong with his health.

That is NOT a healthy dude.

I would be a liar if I said anything nice right now, so I'll just keep some of that crap to myself and call it good.

All bruised up from falls. Maybe his blood pressure is running LOW?

OF COURSE any number of underlying conditions could be the real reason for low blood pressure and falls.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Hands, face, lips, chin are all bruised or recovering from bruising. Lots of falling going on there, I think. Or Elaine Chao is tired of his BS.

so Bashear can appoint the newly minted "Republican." If Republicans in Kentucky complain, Dems can just say that they are honoring McConnell's memory by using the kind of political tactics that he would endorse.

OR, to really commemorate McConnell, Bashear could just leave his seat open, with no appointment at all in order to "let the people choose" at election time. It's what McConnell would have done.

If Bashear does not use one or the other of those tactics to get around McConnell's attempt to control his own replacement, I will be very disappointed in him.

Along with blood thinners.
