The train was traveling from Atlanta to Meridian, Mississippi, when it derailed at around 6:45 a.m. in the Quad Cities area of White Plains, officials said.
There were no reports of injuries and no reports of a hazardous leak after approximately 30 cars derailed, the Calhoun County

(11,825 posts)I was just finishing up the 1pm hour of NPR news, where they played his remarks to Congress, and the segment then included another train derailment in Alabama.

(86,330 posts)The sad truth is that many of these people vote against their own interests - just the cost of doing business - sickening. This is when they realize the true meaning of deregulation and small government.

They should buy the town out and resettle them, close it down like Times Beach, MO. Hell they even took out the Interstate Hwy Exit to Times Beach.
