Why are news outlets excusing FOX on the basis it was all about "ratings". Like lying for ratings

Last edited Fri Mar 10, 2023, 04:31 AM - Edit history (1)

is an excuse for the damage they have caused this country. Like lying for ratings and causing an insurrection is ok because it's all about ratings and not intentionally rage inspiring. Like lying is ok if it's for business and about making money. WTF!!

Any judge who dismisses this shit should be impeached, disbarred and imprisoned.

With the dual mission of:

1) Bad new for Dems.
2) Cheer for the GOP.

They N E V E R call the R party for the craven, completely immoral and corrupt entity it is, and always find a way to mitigate the shit it does.

So, instead of saying Fox has committed a long standing breech of trust to its viewers and the country, they soften the criticism with the "chasing ratings" frame, which makes it look more benign than it is - gee, they are just trying to get ahead in business.

This doesn't excuse the Murdoch RW amenity. He was afraid of losing the Kool-Aid drinkers to someplace like Newsmax which could mean possible loss of revenue. But also remember the majority of money the Newschannel gets is from payment by cable operators and therefore anybody who has a cable sub is subsidizing Fox.

Higher ratings mean more profit.

It is up to us individual citizens to weed through the chaff to get to the facts. It's not going to be spoon fed to us.
