What does Election Season mean????

I read on another thread, about the NY AG saying Trump could be indicted,
but if he is it will have to happen within the next three months because of
Election season?

But the Election isnt till 2024??

Im guessing theyre talking about an Election for AG's around the country??????

There is no national AG election, so not sure what you meant there.

DOJ has a policy of not announcing indictments or investigations for 60 (or 90, I forget which) days before an election. Whoever made the claim you saw does not have a clue what they are talking about.

Election season is whenever someone is potentially going to be indicted. That’s why some get out there early and start acting like they are running, or in Trump’s case, actually announce.

Basically, politicians are ALWAYS running for office. And this thing about DOJ not indicting during “election season” is not actually LAW. It’s just a curtesy, a “policy” like not indicting a sitting President.

So much nonsense. And the American public pay the price. Very little justice is served with these unwritten laws.
