And how did the city of El Paso know which people were "illegal aliens" so they could be cleared from the streets before the president arrived? Also, if they were illegal, why hadn't they been deported already?

Sorry, Ted. You or one of the morons on your staff really screwed the pooch on this one. Deleting it was useless because the Internet is forever.

It's 11+ hours to drive from El Paso to Brownsville. But, El Paso is no farther from Mexico than Brownsville.
One could take a short walk into Mexico from either city.

Yes, the LOWER Rio Grande Valley is in South Texas, but there's also a Rio Grande Valley in New Mexico, where the river cuts through the state.

I really wonder about his status in the Cruz household. He may be a senator, but his wife is the primary breadwinner by far. It's common knowledge that he's universally loathed in DC, by both parties. His poor daughter is a mess. I wouldn't be surprised if Heidi dumped his loser ass.

The city limits of El Paso run right along the Rio Grande with the border for more than 30 miles. And the fact that the President chose El Paso, instead of Brownsville, indicates that he knows a lot more about what's going on along the border than Cruz does.

See that cactus behind him used as set dressing? That's a deliberate choice. Along with the dark colors, the wood paneling and the leather chesterfield chair, it reads: "Texan but classy"

That is a Saguaro cactus. It's native to Arizona. Its blossom is their state flower. Saguaro National Park is named for it.

The Saguaro is not native to Texas. Texas' state plant is the Prickly Pear Cactus.

This is how little Ted Cruz knows or cares about Texas.

If he thinks El Paso is 800 miles from the Rio Grande, he probably can't find his way back to Canada, either.

Hey, Ted? It's in Pyongyang! You should get yourself a one way ticket!
