(9,888 posts)claim normalcy? Relatively speaking, they're pretty normal compared to their forebears. This gang hasn't loped off anybody's head in at least a century.

(10,133 posts)when the king is married to his consort - George V and George VI had their wives crowned as queens at the same time they were crowned. Elizabeth was the odd one out, refusing to let her spouse be crowned or even recognized IIRC as her consort. I think they make these "traditions" up as they go along according to what suits them.
My sister is a big fan of the Windsors, why I have no idea as we have no connection to Great Britain, other than speaking the language.
