The silence re: Jan 5 is bugging me again today.

If the bombs had exploded, the VP elect could have been killed; she was at the DNC property. Fifteen days before inauguration.

This is rarely a matter of public discussion. But what could have been the plot then? Just chaos? Or particular vengeance against her?

It's very troublesome to have silence maintained by Wray.

Because that’s how investigations work- no information released until indictments.

And if it’s not being investigated, there’s nothing to talk about.

Yeah, nothing to see here. Just a potential attempted bombing at Democratic Party offices within hours of the Capitol Riot. No big deal.

Maybe we could talk about WHY wouldn't it be investigated, and why no Accountability for whomever planted the devices. Nah.

No reason for concern. I'm sure it won't happen again.

U.S. Capitol Police Officer Michael Riley, seen here in 2011, faces two charges of obstruction.

A veteran Capitol Police officer has been charged by federal authorities with two counts of obstruction after he allegedly warned a Capitol rioter to remove Facebook posts that showed him inside the building.

Officer Michael Angelo Riley was on K-9 duty on Jan. 6 and even responded to reports of an explosive device near the Capitol complex, according to authorities. The next day, Riley reached out to a Facebook friend ― one he knew because they were both “avid fishermen and members of fishing-related Facebook groups” ― and warned him to take down posts showing him inside the Capitol.

“[I’m] a capitol police officer who agrees with your political stance. Take down the part about being in the building they are currently investigating and everyone who was in the building is going to [get] charged,” Riley wrote. “Just looking out!”

While the rioter is only listed as “Person-1” in Riley’s charging papers, he is believed to be Jacob Hiles. Hiles was arrested on the same date as “Person-1” and like “Person-1” allegedly smoked weed inside the Capitol and has an interest in fishing. (In fact, he was a fishing charter captain in Virginia Beach, Virginia.) Hiles pleaded guilty last month, and his sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 6

....that in footage of the bomber walking with the bombs, a Capitol Police car -- K-9 -- passes the bomber and slows a bit and the bomber seems to acknowledge.

Michael Riley was K-9 officer.

Silence from the premier investigative law enforcement agency.

"If the bombs had exploded, the VP elect could have been killed; she was at the DNC property. Fifteen days before inauguration."

I find it extremely unlikely the pipe bomb could have killed VP Harris. It was not at the DNC but at a park bench nearby. It is true that her motorcade drove by but even if it went off at that exact moment, it would not have penetrated her vehicle, it's far to armored.

"This is rarely a matter of public discussion. But what could have been the plot then? Just chaos? Or particular vengeance against her?"

The theories I've seen was that it was meant to get some of the capitol police away from the capitol during the insurrection... Even not going off, it succeeded in doing that.

"It's very troublesome to have silence maintained by Wray."

Now... Wray is a shitbag, no doubt about that but... What are you expecting to hear? All the video is available for viewing, there is a half million reward out and the only viable lead they have to follow is the sneakers but with 2 billion in sales... That is a lot of sneakers to chase down. I'm just not sure what you are expecting him to say

If the bomber were a nobody, we would have been told the identity by now.

If the bomber is a member of Congress, the reveal becomes more problematic.

"....cannot identify a suspect in a crime with potentially sensational outcome, despite multiple images moving and still? Despite years passing?"

Here are the videos:

https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/washingtondc/news/press-releases/fbi-washington-field-office-releases-video-and-additional-information-regarding-the-pipe-bomb-investigation-090821

Which video (please include timestamp) shows something to be identified.

"Not believable."

Then you should have no problem identifying the person.

"If the bomber were a nobody, we would have been told the identity by now.

If the bomber is a member of Congress, the reveal becomes more problematic."

So... Now you a wandering full on into conspiracy. You really think Marjie is brave or smart enough to build pipe bombs, wander the streets with them and then set them? Or any other member of congress? Simply fantasyland. You are also flat out stating that the Biden admin is covering for the would be bomber... Simply bullshit and a transparent attack on dems. Wray is not doing the investigation in a vacuum. You are stating they know who it is, it's a member of congress and they are hiding it... Not one person in the hundreds involved in the investigation are saying anything... They are all in on it... And that includes a lot of Biden people.

"Or you could provide a reasonable explanation as to why there is no progress in this investigation."

I did in post #15 and post #18... You have elected to ignore what I said and not address any of it, instead coming up with a CT that allows you to blame the Biden administration. Did you find that video evidence yet?

Done with the insults and that putting words in my mouth and more, making many assumptions of your own.

The lack of courtesy is rather shocking.

And I don't really consider a Trump holdover to be legitimate part of a Democratic administration. Not Wray (with all his history), and not DeJoy (with all his corruption).

The distinction between the two being that POTUS can't fire Postmaster. And Biden evidently can't fire Wray or Garland because of the trap GOP has set by investigating Hunter. Were Biden to fire either of them, impeachment proceedings would immediately be brought by GOP.

YMMV, and I won't insult you.

...everyone has questions.

Blaming Ray for 'silence, though' (and not accepting the reason given for that silence) gave me a little snicker.

here's a good domestic terrorism report complete with 'thwarted' attacks:

Of the 230 thwarted violent attacks in the U.S. classified by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as terrorism, so-called “domestic" plots have significantly outnumbered plots from "foreign terrorist organizations" since 9/11.

This report looks at thwarted plots from what the DHS classifies as "foreign terrorist organizations," which the DHS defines as attacks carried out by or under the direction of foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs) such as ISIS or al-Qaeda; "homegrown violent extremists," or individuals who operate primarily within the United States and who are inspired by foreign terrorist organizations but are not acting at their direction; and "domestic terrorism," a broad category that generally refers to terrorism that takes place primarily within the United States, is not inspired by a foreign terrorist group, and encompasses white supremacists.

Of the 230 unsuccessful attacks or plots in the U.S. since 9/11 documented in the report, 28 were directed by foreign terrorist organizations, 118 were committed by homegrown violent extremists inspired by such organizations, and 84 were committed by domestic terrorists.
