Political Migrations

In the same way the human immune system offers neutrophils and other do-gooders to the site of a wound, wouldn’t it make sense for our next elections, for Democrats to move and establish residency in purple areas ahead of an election? By doing this, a relatively small minority would be able to loosen political logjams and even move the political process along in the effort to save our planet.

These days, young people travel so freely. They work from home and have dreams of a decent future. The least attached have an opportunity to try to salvage their future by moving and voting.

1. This is my theory why GOP legislatures are passing inhumane laws in purple states

There are quite a few states where the GOP won the presidential and senate races in 2020 by only 1% or so. By passing inhumane laws that only a RED voter would tolerate, they can drive the DEM voters out, and prevent DEM voters from moving in.

Doesn't take a lot of individuals to make those decisions in order for the GOP to maintain their thin margins.

What woman would choose to move to a state where abortion is outlawed?

What LGBTQ person would likewise choose to move to a state that is attacking them?

What educated person would chose to move to a state where books are being banned?

Like international immigration during the Trump admin -- the cruelty is the point.

Extremists are moving in & supposedly, even moderate repubs are unhappy, although I've yet to spot these alleged moderate repubs in my area. They all get on board & vote for whoever the vile repub candidate is come election day. Personally, I would never move to a red state.

This is the map Marge Greene thinks of when she says let's split the country, like it will be as easy as cutting a cake.

When this is what the country actually looks like.

Both maps are from 2020. The bottom is by population, not region. It's no wonder that repubs & the (corporate owned) media prefer the top map, it makes it look like most of the country is red, that most Americans really are conservative.

When Americans are asked about policy without labels like liberal/conservative or democratic/republican, they overwhelmingly support liberal policies like clean & safe water & food, a solid public education system, pretty much all the things mentioned in that old Joe Conservative essay.

4. Looks like a "Balkanization" of the United States, rather than a geographically-based civil war.

Daddy approves (and supports)

He can't do it with his armed forces, but he can with his fifth column in the U.S.

IMO, people move more for jobs than any other reason.
That would seem to favor migration to blue/sane states that are worker-friendly.

Magazines tout "cost of living", especially for retirees, but moving to a state that allows unbridled street, school and church massacres and no benefits, religious indoctrination rather than real education for the grandkids, makes no sense to a thinking person.

I am currently living in a red area of California. Planning to move to a bluer district. Q.E.D.
