Amazing Oscars Reunion Photo 39 Years in the Making

The first photo is from the 1984 movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom starring Harrison Ford as the title character and child actor Ke Huy Quan who played Short Round in the film.

At Sunday night's Oscars ceremony, Ke Huy Quan won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Waymond in Everything Everywhere All at Once. The film won the Oscar for Best Picture which was presented by Harrison Ford. The second photo is of Ford and Quan, 39 years later, celebrating on stage after the film's win.

but I didn't realize he was Short Round! So awesome! I hope Kate Capshaw (Spielberg's wife) found him later for a big hug.

I saw an interview with him a week ago talking about his fame and not being able to find roles after Indy and the Goonies but...

Oh, my God, I hated him so much in Temple, but I can't really blame him though. Indiana Jones 2 through 4 has been Spielberg doing what he does best - putting his daddy issues on the big screen. It worked with Connery in 3 but not with trying to turn Indiana into a father figure in 2 and 4 (which we don't talk about).

at a movie theater in Tokyo.
I was studying my Japanese language book in the lobby waiting for the previous screening to end.
She was sitting next to me and asked if I spoke Japanese.
We started talking, saw the movie, went out for a sushi dinner and now we've been married for 38 years.
