Bragg may be bringing forth charges that nobody on the news is talking about. The news media, experts, are focused on falsifying business records, a misdemeanor in NY. Which they might attempt to charge as a felony. Never been attempted before.
Bragg may have found something else, evidence of another crime, to charge Trump with.

(4,913 posts)Why would Bragg put his career on the line to reopen a case, he closed, against Trump on just falsifying business records, a misdemeanor in NY. Possibly a felony that has never been tested before in NY.
Like I said, I may be completely wrong. Time will tell.

One of the senior Manhattan prosecutors who investigated Donald J. Trump believed that the former president was guilty of numerous felony violations and that it was a grave failure of justice not to hold him accountable, according to a copy of his resignation letter.
The prosecutor, Mark F. Pomerantz, submitted his resignation last month after the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, abruptly stopped pursuing an indictment of Mr. Trump.
Mr. Pomerantz, 70, a prominent former federal prosecutor and white-collar defense lawyer who came out of retirement to work on the Trump investigation, resigned on the same day as Carey R. Dunne, another senior prosecutor leading the inquiry.
Bragg had a sure thing and dropped it. I am not expecting much from him now.

I have no doubt that other crimes have been discovered; the only question is whether they are prosecutable.
