Tiny D wants America to be like Florida
A state with no industry, no high tech and no modern businesses. Florida is most similar to a third world country that relies on tourism and agriculture. If somehow we could put this into a campaign I think it may enlighten people.

1. DeSantis is awful. What he's doing to the state is awful. That being said...
...your characterization of Florida is nowhere close to being on target.

7. From former St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman (D):
https://www.tampabay.com/opinion/2023/02/07/cities-within-florida-are-already-tech-hubs-state-leaders-should-work-keep-it-that-way-column/#:~:text=Those%20of%20us%20who%20live,economy%20than%20any%20other%20state.
It’s no surprise that many cities throughout the state of Florida — now the fastest-growing state in the nation — have been heralded as up-and-coming tech hubs or the nation’s next Silicon Valley. Those of us who live, work and play in this state already know that Florida is a tech tour de force, with a diverse range of industries and talent available. In fact, in 2021, Florida added more tech companies to its economy than any other state. I personally remember when Scripps Research came to Palm Beach County. It was a big deal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scripps_Research Mayo Clinic has a large campus in Jacksonville: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayo_Clinic A list of various corporations headquartered in Florida: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/largest-companies-in-florida |

10. Gainesville is not a tech hub
now if you said Austin I would agree. Publix is your number one HQ. I don't think Publix is high tech. Let me put it this way. You are reading a fluff piece. I call high tech every single day. That is my business and I sell software to high tech. We are not calling into Florida. The three main areas of high tech startups is Boston, Austin and by far Silicon valley.

14. You're moving those goalposts pretty quickly.
First you rather absurdly claim that Florida has “no industry, no high tech and no modern businesses“ and now you’re insisting it’s deficient because it’s not Silicon Valley.
In that case, nearly all states would qualify as “third world countries” in your opinion and deserve to be shamed. Our governor sucks and is a scourge on humanity. I get it and agree 100%. Doesn’t mean you have to shade the truth though. |

18. I call into high tech every day
No one in high tech looks at Florida as having any tech. This is how you know Tech company’s have very few if any sales people covering the state. With the exception of Akin Gump and Holland and Hart the law firms are local. Compare it to Atlanta and the flagship law firms up here. Big law firms are located in powerhouse business locations.
Atlanta is okay but it is not DC , NY, Chicago or Texas. Look at the amount of lawyers in Texas from the high profile law firms. Texas is packed. That is a good indicator of how business looks at Florida. |

19. Well that's lovely anecdotal evidence on your part.
But doesn’t support your claim that Florida is a “third world country” that deserves a shame campaign.
Because that’s a genius way to endear yourself politically, don’t you think? |

11. FL is NOT the fastest growing state in the US.
It's not even in the top five. By growth - at #1 is WA (at 5.7%), followed at #2 is VT (at 4.3%), then at #3 is ID (at 4.1%), then #4 is AZ (at 4.0%) and #5 is CA (at 3.6%). Don't know what Rick Kriseman is talking about. But FL is racing to the bottom in education, wages, health care and environmental issues -- salt water incursion into fresh water is going to cost FL hundreds of millions of dollars in the near future and every republican governor has ignored this. |

2. I hope Americans are watching DeSantis. He's a Fascist Nazi Authoritarian Dictator.
If you watch him closely, he's following the Fascist Nazi playbook, and I'm dead seriously. I am NOT exaggerating at all. I still think many Americans don't know what this guy is about, his aspirations and goals, and what he is doing to Florida.

And I'm not kidding. He would be the death knell for this country. I truly get a "mass murder" and "forced slave labor" vibe from that guy.

But on the other hand, I am going to be a full time university student next year. I'm looking into seeing what I could do to apply for a student visa and be able to move to another country that way.

24. I have never been more scared of the direction that this country is going in than I am right now.
When you have people threatening to blow up hospitals and murder doctors, and crazy dipshits banning books and attempting to police thought, you know that something is drastically fucked up in this country. I honestly don't see it getting better any time soon. I want to believe that the opposite is true, I hope that we can vote these assholes out before it's too late. America's Ragnarok may be inevitable at this point, though.

33. Have you seen what's going on in Florida lately?
You can see that what gets talked about on Tucker Carlson one night almost gets written into law in states like Florida and Texas the next. Florida is a test market for how far they can go under the guise of our constitution implementing fascist laws and AM radio talking points becoming policy.
