After a few brutal high school encounters with cheap mescal I had definitely lost any urge to ever drink it again. But the local Jamaica plains (Boston) liquor store had Bartcops favorite brand, and it wasn’t cheap! I just had to try it, and learned that fine Tequila can be a sipping spirit, just like a fine scotch.

Not much has changed on it since he passed, but someone is paying to keep the lights on.

A shot of Chinaco Anejo for Bart.

His heart would be broken if he could see this country now. Either that or we would all have drowned in Chinaco Anejo!

I got to meet him at Bartfest West in Las Vegas in 2002. As things in this country grow worse day by day, I feel his loss more bitterly everyday.

Times were so bad that the Stratosphere hotel was $28/night! It was a great time, and Bart supported the right people like Susan McDougal. I often wonder what he would say about today's times.

I do miss Bart. When I was down his ferocity picked me up again.

and Mrs. Bart once at a Las Vegas weekend. There were about 12 of us. We played poker, walked around enjoying the sights, tippled Chinaco Anejo, and visited the pinball machine museum, which was very loud but a lot of fun. And of course, those who partake of such things smoked plenty of weed, though that was never my thing. The whole weekend was a blast and a happy memory. I miss Bart and the page and all the humor as well as some righteous anger!
