(4,298 posts)to believe that the terrible spike in crime is because of inner city residents and the so-called "woke" generation. Just like mass murder and the spike in gun use and killing. The real problem is not where we think it is.

(35,619 posts)I forgot that I hadn't finished it, so I was glad you posted about it.
I was up to the point where they showed the rappers from Insys; I just completed watching it and once again, was just astounded at how many lives this ruined. That one person who tried to m'fr it going to prison for 11 years. The billions Sacklers promised and how it will never get paid. And the deaths: just mind-boggling.
I can't believe I personally was not touched by this tragedy in any way. So many people have been.
The slowness of the response of our government--not just with the opioids but with trump and his criminal behavior--is a giant fault in our democratic system. What I don't know, but something has to be done about this. Corruption plays a big part in it.
Now I'm going to watch Dopesick on Hulu. Didn't know about it, so thanks to canetoad, too, for filling me in.

At each point where you click in the circle, it takes you through that period of time. Thomas Jefferson grew poppies in his garden. Heroin was made illegal in 1924.
